This Week I...

 Tis Saturday.

Guess we'll see what I did this week.

Wrote

Just worked on blog posts this week.

Read

 A lot!

I finished The Stand, Good Omens, a book about Mary Shelley and the Star Wars book I was reading!

Which means I got to start new books.

On the Kindle I started Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper, which is pretty good so far (and free for the Kindle...).

Started reading a true crime book and I'm not really digging it so I'll probably not finish it...

Watched

Just Shoot Me - saw this was on Roku and decided to put it on. Some episodes are missing, which made me sad. But considering I was mostly using it as background noise while I read, it wasn't that big of a deal. Also, I forgot how much I enjoyed this stupid show.

The Storyteller - Saw this was on Max and was like "Yes, I do want to watch John Hurt tell stories to a puppet dog". Fun kids' show from the 80s.

The Storyteller: Greek Myths - Same basic premise as the original, but this time it's Michael Gambon telling Greek myths.

Played

 Nothing.

Posted

An Animal Crossing Post.

Anything Else?

 Not a damn thing.

That's all for this one. Not sure what Wednesday's post will be.

This Week I...

Hey. It's Saturday. Let's see what I did this week.

Wrote

Very little. Mostly things that will never see the light of day but I needed them out of my head.

Read

Gods. A little fan-fiction. Reading wasn't my friend this week.

Watched

Percy Jackson & The Olympians - finally watched the last two episodes. Fucking great show. Probably gonna do a blog post about it.

Resident Alien - I had, like, three seasons on my DVR so I figured it was time to watch it. Pretty good show so far. I'm still on season one, so we'll see how it goes.

Murder, She Wrote

Mortal Kombat: Conquest - Did not have high expectations of this show. I mean, they spelled Conquest with a C. But it was entertaining, so I'll probably finish it. And be sad cause I read it ends on a cliffhanger...

An unhealthy amount of Stray Kids videos on YouTube, TikTok and Pinterest. I might have a problem. No one send help.

Played

Fucking nothing... I should play some Mortal Kombat...

Posted

Ramblings about the first Percy Jackson book.

Anything Else?

Not really. It fucking snowed last night/this morning. It was 60 degrees two days ago. Now there's snow. Stupid weather.

That's all for this one. I feel like shit and am gonna go lay down and watch some YouTube.

Watched

 Stuff on YouTube.

Anthony Vincent released a new video which was awesome.

This Week I...

Howdy, y'all. It's Saturday. That means I get to try and remember what I did this week.

 A bit.

Decided to rename one of my characters so I spent the week looking up options for that. Still haven't made a decision. Trying to decide between two options.

Read

 A bit.

Finished Girl Explorers

Elementary - almost done with the first season.

Resident Evil: Death Island - Oh. This was good.

Ramblings about Love Bites

A short fic about Clint Barton not choosing a good password.

Anything Else?

Me and the kiddo went to a basketball game.  They've been wanting to get out and do things, and this town sucks. Basically all there is to do is sports or religion related. We decided sports were the lesser evil. Plus, my nephew is on the basketball team.

That's all for this one.

Wednesday's post should be some ramblings about a movie.

Nothing important.

Stop looking at me like that.

Nothing to see here.

Move along.

These are not the droids you're looking for.

Mortal Kombat - The old movie. This movie is so bad and I love it.

Read very little fan-fiction this week. Huh.

Welcome to Raccoon City - Fun movie. Working on a blog post about it. Here's hoping I can finish it.

Caught up on the Percy Jackson show.

This Week I...

 Hello There!

Saturday again. So, let's see what I did this week.

Wrote

Mostly stuff on a few blog posts.

Read

Mostly fan-fiction. I read a bit on my Now Reading Stack.

Watched

Avatar: The Last Airbender - Decided to cancel Netflix and realized I had never watched this show. So, figured I could try to fit it in before no more Netflix. Now I regret not watching it sooner cause I wanna watch it again. Sokka is the best. Love that boy.

The Legend of Korra  - I enjoyed this one as well, but the original series is still my favorite of the two. We did get an almost lesbian relationship in this one. Gonna have to read the comics now.

Mysteries at the Museum - Seriously this show just makes me wanna have a show where me and my kid just travel the US going to every museum we can find and asking the people that work there to tell us about their favorite exhibit... Anyone wanna pay us to do that?

Played

 Nothing...

Posted

A short Dragon Age story.

 Animal Crossing post.

Anything Else?

I'm down to three cigarettes a day! Go me. Okay, I'll admit, a couple days I have had four... But most days I'm down to three

Elementary - Gods I love this show.

World's Most Evil Killers - it was background noise.

Inside Job - Forgot I was all caught up on this show and ended up watching it again.

Avatar: The Last Airbender - This show is as old as my kid. And I feel bad that it has taken me this long to watch it. It's a really good show. Also, props to the fans because in 18 years nothing has been spoiled for me.

This Week I...

 Hello There!

It's Saturday again.

Which means I'm going to be ashamed of everything I didn't do this week. And even more ashamed of how much fan-fiction I read... Oh. I do a weekly Tumblr post that is just a list of fan-fiction I read. We're not going to talk about that here...

Wrote

Not much. Got some ideas for some fics written down.

Doing research for some of my original stuff right now. And hopefully I can continue the research and actually get the knowledge I need so I can get back to actually writing something.

Read

A lot of fan-fiction. I fell into a Jango Fett/Obi-Wan Kenobi hole and refused to dig myself out for three days.

Also changed up the Spooky/Thriller/Mystery book I was reading. Was not enjoying the one I was reading so I swapped it for Interview With the Vampire.

I also spent two days arguing with the Kindle app on my tablet cause when I went to read some of The Stand it was all "I'm silly and forgot this thing existed so you have to download it again". And then, for whatever reason, it took me two nights to actually get it downloaded again. For reasons that are actually my fault... But yeah. Getting back to that one tonight.

Watched

Percy Jackson & the Olympians - Just the first three episodes cause that's all they let me have right now. Oh. My. Gods. It is great.

Ratatouille

A bunch of stuff on YouTube.

Played

 Some games on my phone.

Posted

 Animal Crossing Post.

Anything Else?

Got some grading done for the kiddo's school work.

That's all I got for this one.

See y'all Wednesday. Which... I don't know what that post will be. It's a surprise.

This Week I...

'Tis Saturday. Let's see what I did this week.

Wrote

Very little. I did some research for a fic idea. Research was mostly reading articles on Wookiepedia... I got a couple ideas for some Star Wars fics, but they require more Star Wars knowledge.

Read

A bunch of fan-fiction. Fell down a Jango/Obi-Wan hole again. It's nice here...

Watched

How It's Made

Mostly watched some random true crime shows for background noise. Which, learned that I'm not a big fan of true crime stuff that isn't Casual Criminalist, Coffeehouse Crime or That Chapter on YouTube.

Played

Nothing. Maybe some games on my phone but that was it.

Round up of things I did that won't get their own blog posts.

 Hmm... I dunno.

Still trying to find a job.

Kid turns 18 soon, so that's sending me down a spiral.

Lots of things are sending me down a spiral.

Not fan-fiction though!

That's all I got for this one.

Wednesday's post... Might end up being another Animal Crossing post. Having some trouble with some posts.

Saturday, December 16, 2023

This Week I...

 Ugh.

I did nothing this week.

Here's a post about how much nothing I did.

Wrote

 Very little.

Read

Bits on my Now Reading Stack.

I'm about halfway through the first Percy Jackson book... Cause I refuse to focus on books I started months ago.

Watched

Miss Sherlock - This show was awesome. Working on a blog post about it.

Catching Killers - what is up with Netflix not putting shows in order on their page? Like, if you go to this show's page on Netflix, go down to the episodes and more section, they are listed as Season 3, Season 2, and Season 1. If you go to season one and start at episode one, you only watch one episode, then get kicked back to the episode menu screen. That is some stupid ass shit.

Stuff on YouTube. Lotta That Chapter stuff.  I dunno. Dude has a calming voice?

Played

 Games on my phone.

My ramblings about the Red, White, and Royal Blue movie.

Anything Else?

Nah. Mental health ain't great this time of the year so there's that.

Saturday, December 9, 2023

This Week I...

 Hey, y'all. Saturday again.

Let's see what I got up to this week.

Spoiler: Still didn't finish The fucking Stand. What the fuck is wrong with me?

Wrote

Not enough. I'm kind of pissy cause Google Drive took away the little section at the top of my Drive that had docs I had opened recently. I know I can go to the fucking Recent tab. I know. But the convenience is gone. I would open up whatever I wanted/needed to work on from there and then also go through other docs to see if there was anything else I could work on. So, I've mostly been glaring at Google Drive the entire time I'm on the computer and doing no writing.

I did do a little writing for some random fic ideas on my phone. Which is convenient, but I'm better at the computer sometimes.

Also, worked on a blog post for next week. Still not fully happy with what I've been working on...

Read

Funny story. I picked up my tablet to read The Stand. Got 20% left of the book. I can finish this shit in one night if I focus. I could finish it in a fucking hour if I focus. Tablet needed turned on. Takes a minute for it to load up completely, so I set it down to let it do that. Picked up Red, White & Royal Blue cause I have an idea for a fan-fiction but I needed a timeline of events for it so I had planned to skim through, putting a post-it on the major events. Ended up basically reading most of the book. I skipped parts, but I read a fucking lot of it. And then it was 2:30 in the morning. I didn't finish The Stand. And I didn't post-it a single thing.

Also read some fan-fiction... Mostly Red, White & Royal Blue fan-fiction. Because I am unhealthily obsessed with it right now.

Watched

Stuff on YouTube... And by "stuff on YouTube" I mean I watched possibly every available Red, White and Royal Blue fan-video I could find... Repeatedly.

Godzilla (2014)

Kong: Skull Island

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Godzilla vs. Kong

Young Indiana Jones

Played

Just games on my phone.

Ramblings about Young Jedi Knights: Darkest Knight

Anything Else?

Switched browsers from Chrome to Firefox. Which, shit, Firefox works a lot better. I still have an issue with bookmarks though. Okay, on Chrome my homepage (you know, what popped up when I opened the browser) was my bookmarks. And I have a lot of bookmarks cause I tend to just bookmark shit that I say I'll check out later and rarely do. But with Firefox I can either make them a sidebar (which I don't like because it takes up screen space) or open the bookmarks manager which is a whole new window and makes me forget it's there. So, I'm trying to get used to that right now.

And that's all for this one. I'm gonna go cook me and the kiddo some food and spend the rest of the day watching YouTube and trying to not read Red, White, and Royal Blue again. It's just so good...

This Week I...

'Tis Saturday, y'all.

Let's see what I did this week.

Obsess over two fictional men falling in love, mostly...

Wrote

Mostly blog posts. I did a little bit of writing for some fan-fiction ideas.

Read

Finished The Darkest Knight and almost got the blog post written up for that.

Also read Red, White, and Royal Blue again. Trying real hard to resist just picking it up and reading it again. Fuck that book is so godsdamn good.

Watched

Ramblings about an Agatha Christie book.

Plans for December

Anything Else

Hmmm... 🤔

I am thinking about altering the template I use for my movie/book/video game reviews. I'm thinking about combining the Warnings and Tropes section into something like "Tags This Would Have on AO3". Mostly cause I wanna let every one know how often I enjoy things that are summed up with things like "Idiots in Love", "Mutual Pining" and "Happy Ending". Seriously though, writers on AO3 have a great way of tagging things and I like it. I dunno. It's just a thought right now.

That's all for this one. Wednesday should either be a book review or a movie review. Whichever I actually finish first.

Saturday, November 25, 2023

This Week I...

Another week gone. Another post of me trying to justify things I do? I dunno.

Wrote

A bit. Reworking my prompt journal is doing pretty well for me. I haven't written any literary masterpieces but I'm writing so that's good.

Read

Finished Murder is Easy by Agatha Christie

Also finished Disney Trivia From the Vault

Also read a little bit of fan-fiction. And some on my Now Reading Stack.

Watched

Krampus - I fucking love this stupid fucking movie.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver - was behind a few episodes. Real glad that bird won the Bird of the Century contest.

Murder, She Wrote - only watched a few episodes.

Played

Games on my phone.

I need to get back to Resident Evil 5

Buuuuut... I just bought Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One on Steam. Which, hey, it is only 12 bucks for the Deluxe Edition until the 28th. 60 bucks on Epic Games still. So yeah, if you want it... Me and the kiddo had some money on Steam so I figured I would splurge.

Posted

A blog post about things that won't get their own blog post.

Anything Else?

Hmm... Nothing comes to mind.

That's all for this one. Wednesday's post should be a book review.

This Week I...

 Hey y'all!

It's Saturday again, so here's what I did this week.

I was fighting a bit of a cold all week so I didn't get much accomplished. I say as though I get shit accomplished any other time.

Wrote

A bit. Started a new prompt journal. And changed how I do it. To explain, my prompt journal is just a journal where I write something for a random prompt that I have collected off the internet. I have a little tote full of little slips of paper that have prompts on them. When I first started doing this, every day I would pick out a prompt and go from there. But at some point I thought it would be a good idea to fill the journal with prompts first and then go through and write as I wanted. I realized recently this does not work for me. Because while I'm putting prompts in the journal, I can think of a slight idea, but when I sit down to write, I forgot the idea. So I decided to go back to picking out one prompt at a time. I'm also not gonna put so much focus on doing one a day. If I want, I'll do a few a day. If I can't come up with anything, I'll just skip that day. We'll see how it goes.

Read

Finished Haunted West Virginia

read a bit on my Now Reading Stack. Also swapped out some books.

That is the stack as of today.

Watched

Stuff on YouTube. Mostly Gab Smolders playing hidden object games. And some clips from John Oliver's show (we're gonna use those for homeschool.) Like I said, I was fighting a bit of a cold all week which involved dozing off a lot and slight headaches. So, actually watching something with a solid plot that I would have to pay attention to was not going to work for me.

Played

Games on my phone. I'm trying to get another Amazon gift card from MistPlay so must play some games. It is such a hardship.

Posted

A blog post about things I watched or read that won't be getting their own rambling blog post.

Anything Else?

Applied for a job.

Kiddo and I tried out a chicken and broccoli recipe. Chinese Chicken and Broccoli? Anyway, it was a bit soy sauce heavy for us so we're gonna modify it when make it again.

Made pepperoni rolls. Need to make more. I only made 12. That is not enough.

And that's it for this one. Not sure what Wednesday's post will be.

Saturday, November 4, 2023

This Week I...

 Hello there.

Saturday again. So let's see what I did this week.

Wrote

Mostly blog posts. Wrote bits on some story ideas but nothing major. Since I broke my external hard drive, I gotta re-do my Writing Challenge document cause that's all I had saved on there.  Thankfully I have a spreadsheet that has most of what was on that doc. Cause all I really had was some basic ideas. So I've been copying and pasting those basic ideas onto a document all week. Cause I have way too many basic ideas and nothing written for them...

Read

Bits on my Now Reading stack of books. And fan-fiction. Oh, I also started reading the Way of the House Husband manga. It is just so good. Gonna watch the live-action show soon too. I need all of it.

Watched

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Only watched a few episodes of the show. Which that show is even more depressing after reading fan-fictions where the clones live long and happy lives.

Murder, She Wrote

Stuff on YouTube

Played

Played a bit of Resident Evil 5. Need to get back to that... I was enjoying it.

This Week I...

Look at that. It's Saturday again. Let's see what I did this week.

Wrote

Not much. I got an idea for a Star Wars fan-fiction so I've been working on that for a couple of days.

Read

I finished A Quick Bite by Lynsay Sands.

So, that's my Now Reading Stack. Over halfway done with the Young Jedi Knights book. Switched out a Goosebumps book for a spooky Star Wars book. Not sure if I'm gonna keep it in the stack since I'm already reading one Star Wars book. Don't wanna confuse my poor widdle brain.

Watched

A bunch of stuff on YouTube.

The Clone Wars movie.

More stuff on YouTube cause I won't let myself watch anything with a plot until I write up two blog posts... I hate myself sometimes.

Played

Just some games on my phone.

Posted

My ramblings about Salem's Lot mini-series.

Anything Else?

Dropped my external hard-drive and it stopped working. So that's fun. Thankfully I didn't lose much, but still frustrating.

Oh, and we had to get a new printer. Fun times.

Well, that's all for this one. Wednesday's post will either be me rambling about a book or rambling about another Star Wars movie. Who knows. Not me.

Saturday, October 21, 2023

This Week I...

Hello all.

Saturday again. So, let's see what I got into this week, shall we?

Wrote

Basically nothing.

I'm switching what program I use for writing so I spent a couple of days getting the program downloaded (yay for shitty internet...). Then installed. And yesterday (Friday) I started copying and pasting things. Which after I started I think I might be able to just... transfer it without copying and pasting. Eh, I'm old and am set in my weird ways. Partially. Right now I am actually splitting up my Writing Challenge document, so copying and pasting is necessary.

Read

I finished Goosebumps: How to Kill a Monster by R.L. Stine.  Won't be doing a blog post about it for reasons, but I did read it.

Now to read all of those. Just realized all those are re-reads except for The Stand on the Kindle...

Also read some fan-fiction. I'm trying to catch up on my subscriptions on AO3. People write a lot in October. Which, makes sense considering there are, like, 20 monthly themes for the month. And a few writers I am subscribed to are participating. So I get at least four new stories a day. And I am super behind.

Watched

The Way of the House Husband - Just watched the anime... Three times. No joke. Episodes were short (I think all were less than 20 minutes long) and there are only... 15? So it wasn't too difficult to watch it all in one sitting. And then I just kept hitting the start over button. It was really entertaining.

Garfield and Friends - If you have Pluto streaming (it's free) there is a channel that just plays Garfield and Friends and the various Garfield specials. There are other channels but I saw Garfield and never left...

Psych - Watched a few episodes, one of which was the horse racing episode. Do all quirky detective shows have a horse racing episode? Elementary had one. Psych had one. The Glades had one. Murder, She Wrote had one (I think...). I just started watching Columbo so I'm not sure if it has one or not...

Mysteries at the Museum - I enjoy this show, but every time I watch it I just wanna pack up and go on a road trip to visit every museum I can find.

Columbo - I am really enjoying Columbo. I wasn't sure if I would like the whole knowing who the killer is thing or not. I like to solve the mystery with the characters. But I really like Columbo. I am just curious though, does Columbo go off on those random topics in conversations to lull the killers into false senses of security or does he have ADHD or something? Part of me likes the first option, but part of me likes the second option. Either way, the show is enjoyable. I do recommend it to anyone who enjoys quirky detective shows. It is free to watch on Tubi.

Salem's Lot (1979) - Really enjoyed this. And there will be a blog post about it.

Return to Salem's Lot - Oh, this was horrible. There will not be a blog post about it.

Played

Mostly just a Sherlock Holmes hidden object/match 3 game on my phone.

Posted

Ramblings about Attack of the Clones

Anything Else?

It rained most of the week which meant our internet and house phone were fucking horrible. Because that is a thing that happens.

And that's all I did this week. Wednesday's post should be about the Salem's Lot mini-series. Hopefully. I got most of the post written up, we'll see if I can actually get it done.
