What I'm Watching

 What I’m Watching…

Just a quick refresher for anyone that forgot:

With the new year, I got back into scheduling what I watch. By that I mean, each day I focus on one streaming service or watching DVDs/blu-rays I own. I started doing this years ago and it really helped me to actually finish watching shows instead of just starting something and then going back and watching random shit on YouTube for the next month. Which is what I’ve been doing for the past year, really. So, I’m going to start some posts talking about what I’m watching for each day and my thoughts, and my expectations to actually finish it.

Note: I sort of fucked up with these posts. I made this post about a month ago. Which means, I'm not watching most of this stuff now. And with my other posts, these keep getting pushed around. It doesn't seem right to post what I'm watching when I'm not watching it. So, over the next few days I'm going to post the ones I have ready. Then, I will start fresh and post the What I'm Watching posts as I finish the round or whatever it is. Regular posts will still be on Wednesdays. But every few days, a What I'm Watching will pop up. I will also do the occasional deep dive into something I watched. So if there's anything you want me to ramble about more, leave me a comment and I'll see what I can do.

Disney+

Still no Disney+.

DVD/blu-ray

Castle Rock

Just watched the first season. Which… Oh, gods I am going to need someone smarter than me to explain that shit to me. I’m still confused. I’ve watched that show two or three times now and I have questions. Sadly, Ryan (who I usually demand to explain things to me) hasn’t watched the show so I’m going to stay confused for a while. I still love the show. Don't get me wrong. I'm just confused on a few details.

Oh, a super cool thing about the show? Well, for me at least… There were a lot of scenes shot at the West Virginia State Penitentiary in Moundsville, West Virginia. I’ve been there. A couple times. And it was super awesome to watch the show and be like “I know that place! I sat there!”

DVR

I think I skipped DVR day this time.

HBO Max

The Looney Tunes Show

Finished it again. Browsed through other shows. Went back to the Looney Tunes. I seriously don’t know what it is about this show. I just can’t stop watching it right now.

Hulu

Bob’s Burgers

I need to get back to Elementary, but I was super tired this week so I went with easy shows. Basically shit I don’t have to pay attention to. And Bob’s Burgers is high on the list of shows like that.

Netflix

Haunted

Okay, this show was okay. Someone tells some spooky story to their friends and family and there are reenactment bits. The reenactment bits were pretty good. After I finished all three seasons of the show, I was like “Oh, there is a Latin America version. I’ll check that out.” It’s in Spanish. Duh. And… I let it play. By that point in the evening, I was mostly just reading fan-fiction in bed, so it wasn’t like I was going to pay attention to anything I put on so I figured this was as good as anything else I could have put on.

PlutoTV

Garfield and Friends

Addams Family

The old Addams Family show is fucking great. I adore it. So when I saw it was on PlutoTV I had to watch it for a while.

Prime

Bunch of random spooky shows

Been in the mood for spooky shows, so I just watched some random sort of ghost-hunting shows on Prime. All I can remember is a couple were about some haunted houses in Saginaw, Michigan.

Roku

Bunch of Random Spooky Shows

Just couldn’t stop myself. Found a couple good ones.

Tubi

Boogeymen: Monsters Among Us

Paranormal Captured

Finished Boogeymen, which made me sad. It was a pretty good show. Still recommend it to anyone that is interested in cryptids.

Started Paranormal Captured, which seemed part people reacting to various videos and pictures of supposed paranormal thing, and part ghost hunting show. It was interesting enough.

VUDU

Supernatural

Internet crapped out halfway through the first episode I tried to watch. Gave up.

YouTube

Darkness Prevails - Watched/listened to a few videos from Darkness Prevails. This channel is basically a dude reading spooky stories. Good narrator voice. Some good stories. Recommend it to anyone that likes to listen to spooky stories.

CJUGames - Watched a few videos from CJU. I have mentioned my love for him before. And I refuse to not show him love.

Casual Geographic - How an Island Created the World’s Ugliest Monkey

This got put on the kiddo’s science playlist. Video was informative and entertaining. Talked about why some animals are “ugly”. Those goats though… Like, what the fuck. Satan goats…

Heavy Spoilers - THE SHINING Breakdown | Ending Explained, Easter Eggs, Hidden Details & Things You Missed

Interesting video. Bit of a deep dive into the Shining movie.

Nuke’s Top 5

Love this guy’s spooky video collections. He’s a great narrator. I enjoy his humor. And the spooky videos are always fun.

North of the Border - I made the Tooth Fairy sitting on a sofa made of teeth

This shit was nightmare fuel and I fucking loved it. Adam (he makes tiny nerdy things) always makes me laugh while he makes the tiny nerdy things. And I like that.

What I'm Watching

Just a quick refresher for anyone that forgot:

With the new year, I got back into scheduling what I watch. By that I mean, each day I focus on one streaming service or watching DVDs/blu-rays I own. I started doing this years ago and it really helped me to actually finish watching shows instead of just starting something and then going back and watching random shit on YouTube for the next month. Which is what I’ve been doing for the past year, really. So, I’m going to start some posts talking about what I’m watching for each day and my thoughts, and my expectations to actually finish it.

Disney+

Nope.

DVD/blu-ray

Fraggle Rock
I only have the first two seasons of that show on DVD which makes me sad. Need the rest of them. This show is just pure fun.

DVR

Watched a bunch of random stuff. Family Guy, The Simpsons, and Bob’s Burgers mostly. So... cartoons. I watched cartoons.

HBO Max

The Looney Tunes Show.
Finished it. Started it over. I don't know what it is about this show but I am addicted.

Hulu

Bob’s Burgers.
This show is wholesome as hell, in a weird way. Sort of like The Addams Family with less goth. They're a loving family that ends up doing some weird shit. I love how weird the kids are and how accepting of the weirdness Bob and Linda are.

Netflix

All Hail King Julian.
A few episodes in I remembered there was a Penguins of Madagascar show. Got excited to watch it instead. Realized it wasn’t on Netflix. Went back to King Julian out of spite. Show isn’t bad. Mort is the best part, honestly. Love that little weirdo. But the Penguins show was better in my opinion.

PlutoTV

Garfield and Friends.

Still just a nostalgia watch for me.

Prime

Psych.
I talked about Psych before on a previous post. It's just a show I really enjoy. I put it on a lot as background noise when I'm doing other things but still catch myself getting sucked in a lot.

Roku

World’s Scariest Hauntings
Show about haunted places. Not a ghost-hunting show. I don’t watch those. Well, I watch one on YouTube but that’s it. The show basically just talked about haunted places and some supposed hauntings that happened there. I like these kinds of shows. Need more of them.

Tubi

Boogeymen: Monsters Among Us
Still enjoying this show. I just really like cryptids.

VUDU

I skipped VUDU. Was not in the mood to deal with the Winchester family drama.

YouTube

Watched a few videos from illuminaughti, some from Lazy Game Reviews, a couple North of the Border videos, and a couple from Mr Kravin.

illuminaughti does slight deep dive videos about MLMs, and shitty corporations. She also has a dog that she talks about a lot. Which makes everything better.

I watched LGR open a bunch of weird shit his viewers have sent him.

I watched North of the Border make a Lord of the Rings book nook, a Last of Us Mario mash-up, and a Baby Yoda and a sea monster.

And I watched Mr. Kravin play some horror games. He was a fly in one.

And that's what I've been watching lately.

Disney+

Still no Disney+. I’ll get it back someday… Cause I do need to watch that Obi-Wan Kenobi show… And the Boba Fett show… But, car is in the shop and we gotta save every little bit we can. So, Disney+ is on hiatus for me.

DVD/blu-ray

Clerks, Clerks: Animated Series, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma

Oh boy. This was a fun day of laughing at dick and fart jokes I have heard a few thousand times. So far, Dogma is still my absolute favorite Kevin Smith. It is just a great movie. I am probably gonna do a tier list of Kevin Smith movies at some point after I finish watching the View Askew movies. I will go into my love for each then.

DVR

The Daily Show

Did y’all know Gabrielle Union is 50? Also finally watched Trevor's last show. Which I will miss him. Also got caught up on John Oliver. And watched a random Doctor Who episode. Then I watched Spongebob cause I got sucked into reading and couldn’t be bothered to actually pay attention to anything.

HBO Max

The Looney Tunes Show (2011-2013)

I was tired and still cared more about reading than paying attention to the TV. Which, that show is awesome. It’s basically a sitcom with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. I don’t really like what they did with Lola. She is a fun character, but I remember Lola from the old Space Jam movie and… this is not that Lola… But other than that I love the show and it is a go-to for me when I’m just not in the mood for something serious.

Hulu

Elementary

Got to the episode with the Moriarty reveal. Which I think is just perfection. This Moriarty is my favorite.

Netflix

Lucifer

This show just keeps getting more twisty and turny and I love it.

PlutoTV

Garfield and Friends

PlutoTV is not a favorite streaming service, but it’s free. And it has a whole “channel” or whatever that plays Garfield and Friends. Which is such a nostalgia watch for me.

Prime

Grimm

The show is growing on me. I’m interested. But… I still have some issues with it so it won’t be on my favorite TV shows list. But it’s an interesting watch.

Roku

Dead Like Me

I watched this show before and really enjoyed it. Figured I could do a rewatch. The show is about a group of grim reapers. And it’s surprisingly funny. Mostly. There is some angst, of course.

Tubi

Boogeymen: Monsters Among Us

Yay! More cryptids! Lot of lake monsters… Is there a monster in every lake? Which, when I asked Ryan this, he said they are guardian spirits and now I have decided every lake does indeed have a “monster” but it’s really a guardian spirit. So, time to make some sacrifices to these guardian spirits.

VUDU

Supernatural

Almost got all the way through season one. Still do not like John Winchester. Don’t come at me listing off his redeeming qualities, cause I don’t care. Bobby is the better father figure to the Winchester boys. Speaking of Bobby. I stopped watching at his first episode. Gods did I miss him. Bobby is totally my favorite Supernatural character.

YouTube

Hmm… I feel like I should explain how I watch stuff on YouTube real quick. I don’t just pick out a video on the main page and go from there. I go through the recommended videos and save the interesting ones to my Watch Later list. Then I just hit play on that on YouTube days. So, unless I am in the mood to watch something specific, YouTube days are all over the place. Which means -

I watched a few videos to put on the kiddo’s school playlists (we have a playlist for each subject and they have to watch so many a month and give me a summary or at least tell me something they learned). Watched Lazy Game Reviews talk about an old game and unbox an old computer. Watched a couple dudes make nerdy things. Watched a list of spooky videos. Watched the new OnlyOneOf video. And some CJUGames videos.
