This Week I...

Well, let's see what I did this week.
Spoiler:
Fucking nothing.

Wrote

Basically nothing. It was not a good week for me to write anything (again).

Read

I finished a Goosebumps book. Wasn't a big fan of it so I won't be doing a blog post about it.
Read some fan-fiction, too. Of course. I read fan-fiction damn near every day it seems...

Watched

Columbo - I've been meaning to check out Columbo for awhile now. Ever since I watched Pushing Up Roses' video about the show. Then I was watching a Drawfee episode and they mentioned Columbo and I was like "It is time." Only watched the first three "episodes" but I really enjoyed it.
Stuff on YouTube
I thought I watched something else but I cannot remember...

Played

Monster Hunter Now - I hunt monsters now. This game is super fun. I never played any of the actual Monster Hunter games, but now I feel like I should probably check them out.
Pokemon Go - I'm out of pokeballs now...
Sherlock - another mobile game. I was playing this one constantly a few months back and then just... stopped. And I regret doing that cause I love this game. It's a hidden object and a match-three game. With a background plot of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson going into classic books to solve mysteries. Fucking love it.

Anything Else?

Kind of a shit week for doing anything.
Period started on Monday. So that took me down for a couple days. Then me and the kiddo got our flu shots, which I didn't have a reaction to, aside from my arm was sore where I got it. And of course I got it in the arm I sleep on because I forgot that was a thing I do (sleep... I forgot I sleep). So I slept like shit that night and the next day I was barely functioning. A friend came to visit on Friday and then I had to go to Walmart right after she left, so my social battery was dead by late afternoon and I just gave up on the day.

Oh yeah, I joined BlueSky thanks to Ryan. So, go follow me there if you want.

And that's what I did this week. No idea what Wednesday's post will be. I got three days to figure it out. Here's hoping for something spooky, cause it's spooky month. Anyone got a good idea? Keep in mind I got three days and am already reading enough books. 😂

This Week I...

Hello There!

It's Saturday again. Which means I'm going to pretend I actually did things this week. Spoiler alert: The milk doesn't make it.

 Wrote

I didn't write much this week. Sort of lost motivation on a Witcher fic I was working on. Well, less lost motivation more of I got to a point where I don't know what to do. I was thinking about doing a scene but not sure if it works in the story or not. Eh, I'll figure it out at some point.

Read

Fan-fiction. Well I did read a few original works on AO3 but in my mind it's all fan-fiction since I read it on AO3. But yeah, there is some fucking awesome original work on there if you take the time to look for it.

Watched

The Simpsons - I got Disney+ back and I immediately started watching a show that I have seen thousands of times AND own on DVD. Because I am logical.

It - The original mini-series.

Wings - just watched the first disc of my DVD collection of the show.

Doctor Who - Watched some episodes I had on the DVR. They were episodes I had already watched, but needed a refresher on before I get started on catching up.

Murder, She Wrote - I think I'm up to season three on Freevee... 🤔Jessica just solved a murder while she was stuck in bed and Grady was serving her horrible food.

Good Eats - Gods I love this show. Alton Brown hands out cooking tips and recipes without being boring. He's silly and fun and I learn shit. Totally gonna make my kid watch some of these epsides and count it as school work. Hey, we're still doing Life Skills/Home Ec, so it counts!

I also watched CJUGames play Resident Evil every night before bed. The sounds of him shooting zombies just soothes me...

Played

Nothing. Remembered I bought Mortal Kombat 11 and decided I should play that. And of course the Xbox needed an update. And our internet is shitty (... shittier) today so I should have just played Deception. It was originally what I wanted to play, but I kept remembering the pop-up combos and crying. Fucking pop-up combos.

Anything Else?

Went to Walmart on Friday. Got home about two in the afternoon. Had a nice relaxing day, until about midnight when I FUCKING REALIZED I LEFT THE MILK IN THE FUCKING CAR. So, that's about how my week went...

And that's really it.

Wednesday's post will probably be another Animal Crossing post. Sorry, but my attention span has been absolute shit really lately. I did write up an outline... layout... whatever for book reviews, instead of just ramblings. And also came up with ones for talking about movies/TV shows and video games. I should have them perfected by the time I actually get around to reviewing anything. 😂

This Week I...

Hello There!

Let's see what I did this week, shall we?

I got a braincell.

 Wrote

A bunch on a Witcher fic. Would love if I could stay focused and get it finished.

Read

A lot of fan-fiction. Wasn't having a great mental health week and decided that more Stephen King wasn't going to be helpful so I put a pause on The Stand.

Watched

Penguins of Madagascar

Aaah! Real Monsters

CJUGames Resident Evil playthroughs. I'm finally watching him play the fourth game. Not the remake of the fourth game. The original. I'll watch the remake later.

Look at all that pretty...

Played

Nothing. I need to get back to Morrowind, but it didn't happen this week.

Anything Else?

I canceled the Walmart+ free trial. Which, you cannot cancel that early and still get the full month out of it. Just a heads up. But, to me, it isn't worth the 13 bucks a month. Some people might benefit from it. But not me. The only part that I would use was the Paramount+ subscription, but it's cheaper to just get that. Which, Paramount+ had a lot of things I wanted to watch, but didn't. Since I only had (less than) a month I stuck to random old shows I enjoyed. Pretty disappointed that I didn't get to finish School Spirits, but that's on me. I had the plan with ads, and they weren't so bad. They changed with what I was watching, so no worries if you want to let your kids watch the Nickelodeon stuff that they'll see ads for adults. Nope. Just ads for toys, other shows, and random Nickelodeon music videos. Okay, two music videos and the songs are STILL stuck in my head...

Also, the plan to stretch my time in between cigarettes did not work well this week. Still at two hours in between. But it was also a period week so I'm not gonna be too hard on myself about it.

This Week I...

Hello There!

Let's see what I did this week.

Oliver didn't do much of anything this week.

 Wrote

Little things here and there.

I did type up some stuff from the prompt journal.

Read

Finished The Bookshop Murder.

Started The Stand by Stephen King. A little over half-way through it.

Also read a bunch of fan-fiction.

Watched

Wings mostly.

Watched a bit of Aaahh! Real Monsters, as well. Loved that show as a kid.

Watched some Are You Afraid of the Dark? as well. Never watched that show as a kid. It's good for what it is.

Also watched some Doug and some Angry Beavers. I'm just nostalgia watching a bunch of shit on Paramount+

School Spirits - I did start watching this on Friday. Watched two episodes and really enjoyed them. Gonna try and finish it up soon. It's about a girl who was murdered (maybe) and her ghost is stuck in the high school she attended. She can't remember how she died, and no one has found her body, so she decides she will solve her own murder.

Played

Just some games on my phone.

Review of The Bookshop Murder.

Anything Else?

Nothing really. Boring week, really.

This Week I...

 Hello There!

Ugh.

Oliver is trying to nap.

Okay, let's see what I did this week.

Wrote

A bit here and there.

A blog post or two.

And writing adjacent: Trying to finish fleshing out my original characters. Got stuck for awhile trying to decide if my incubus should have horns or not. Mostly because I kept thinking "how would he sleep with those?" every time I saw a set of horns...

Read

Some fan-fiction.

Finished Salem's Lot.

Trying to focus in on the cozy mystery I've been reading on Kindle.

Watched

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves - oh gods! This was sooooooo good. I wanna marry Holga.

Wings

Penguins of Madagascar - the show this time. I love this show.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? - The 90s were a wild time. I mean, these kids are just hanging out in the woods playing with fire and telling spooky stories.

Played

Mobile games.

Posted

An original thing on AO3. Which, if you wanna read that you need an account. Sorry. If you want an invite let me know...

My ramblings about Salem's Lot.

Anything Else?

Kiddo's therapy got canceled this week. Which isn't a bad thing, really. Just threw us off that day.

Then Thursday night/Friday morning it stormed real bad and I had three panicking dogs in my room wanting me to make the noise stop.

Then today (Saturday) I woke up feeling like shit. So I'm gonna finish up a few things I need to do today and then I'm going to curl up, watch cartoons and maybe read.

No idea what Wednesday's post will be about. The way it's looking right now, it'll probably be another Animal Crossing post. See y'all then.

This Week I...

 Hello There!

Let's see what I did this week.

Got angry mostly...

Wrote

Some bits of fan-fiction.

Also working on something with my original characters. Not really anything that goes with the main plots of that. More of a character study, I suppose. It's fighting me a bit.

Did a lot of research for a Naruto fan-fic idea that I've been playing around with for a couple years now. Like, a lot. I've drawn charts and diagrams. Sort of. And the Naruto canon is full of holes. Which can be annoying as shit.

Read

Whole lotta fan-fiction.

Got less than 100 pages left in Salem's Lot. Shit is not going well in the Lot. I'll probably finish it up before I go to sleep tonight (in the morning...)

Watched

Stuff on YouTube. Whole bunch of Casual Geographic's stuff. Love that dude.

Good Omens - Just the first season. Again. I was thinking about watching Red, White, and Royal Blue but I couldn't decide if I wanted to finish re-reading the book first or not.

Wings - So, I had to order something from Walmart. And shipping on an 8-dollar mouse was 7 dollars. Which I did not want to pay. That is ridiculous. So... I got a Walmart+ free month trial. And that came with a free month of Paramount+. Which I've been wanting to check out, but haven't had the extra funds to do so. Saw Wings was on there and was like "Well, that's what I'm gonna watch all day". I really like this show. Did notice there were missing episodes and just looked it up. Looks like it's because of music licensing issues. They had that problem with Daria when they wanted to release it on DVD and they just removed a lot of the music. So if anyone wants to watch all of the show, I would go buy the DVD of the entire series. I got it and am pretty sure all the episodes are there. And seriously, I wouldn't have noticed that an episode that was missing didn't have a major plot event that carried over into the following episodes.

Played

A bit more on Morrowind. I'm waiting to play more until I get a mouse for my laptop. I don't like stealing the one from my desktop computer all the time.

Also played a bunch of mobile games on my phone.

Posted

My ramblings about some Hawkeye comics.

Anything Else?

Spent a couple days searching online for a job. No luck cause this town sucks. Don't wanna be a nurse, don't have CDLs and I'm holding Walmart and fast food as a very last fucking resort. Both almost killed me when I worked them before. I would prefer something that is an overnight thing. Mostly because I live with my disabled parents and we have one solid working vehicle. So, days are mostly spent running errands for them. I dunno. I'll figure something out.

Kiddo finished up their vocab work for the year. They also finished their science already. I would be concerned about them speeding through everything but they also have to write essays and other writing assignments. And do a sewing project. So their thought process is that the quicker they get through the easier things, the longer they can spend on the other things.

Listened to music... Lot of Dixon Dallas and The Amazing Devil. I was hoping music would help me focus on my writing... And I heard about Dixon Dallas's Good Looking song and had to check it out. I was laughing so hard. Great song. Not Safe For Work, though. Unless your co-workers are cool. And if they are, where do you work? They hiring? What sort of benefits you got?

Okay. That's it for this weekly update. Not sure what Wednesday's post will be. Depends on how quickly I can get something written up about Salem's Lot. If I finish that original story thing I might post that on here as well. Not sure. Depends on how well I like the finished product probably. We'll see.

Check y'all later.

This Week I...

Hello There!

Let's see what I did this week, shall we?

Wrote

Bits and pieces on various fan-fics.
I got this massive idea for a Star Wars fic, which for a while was the title I gave it on Google Docs. I finally started actually writing bits for it. It is going to take a long time for me to write though.

Read

The first volume of Hawkeye.

A lot of fan-fiction.

Oh, I swapped books again. I was reading a true crime book. Just a collection of different serial killers. I was getting badly written and poorly researched vibes from very early on. And then I got to the part about the Manson Family, saw an error in the first paragraph, and just gave up. I swapped it for Mayflower Madam, which I have read before but it was many years ago. I remember I enjoyed it before. Let's see if that opinion holds.

Watched

Gravity Falls - Had some severe weather one day which resulted in our internet not working. And there was a fear of the power going out. So I just watched Gravity Falls on DVD

Good Eats - discovered this was on Max and had to start watching it again. I think this is one of the best "cooking" shows I've ever watched. And I've watched, like, three. But seriously, Alton Brown teaches some history, a bit of math, little bit of science, kitchen safety, and how to cook. All in a show that is full of silly humor. And yeah, I probably won't use a lot of his recipes but I will be using a bunch of his random kitchen tips.

Rugrats - needed a comfort show. Sadly Rugrats didn't do it for me. I watched a few episodes and gave up.

Lot of YouTube stuff. Drawfee has quickly become a bit of a comfort channel. It's nice cause I can put the videos on as background noise, but are also super calming and fun to just sit and watch.

Played

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - been wanting to play this for some reason, and I got the Game of the Year Edition on gog.com a while back so I figured I'd play that. Never played it on PC before. And... I think I prefer it. I didn't play overly long, and I died pretty quick. I was playing on my laptop and soon learned that I should use a regular mouse and not just the laptop's mousepad. Which did cause an issue until I turned off the mousepad. But I'm enjoying it on the PC. There are a couple features I like more. And a feature or two that I'm not sure if are PC features or I just didn't know how to properly play on the Xbox. Oh, I also created my own class! I wanted to be a bard but I didn't like the set-up they gave me so I created Bard 2.0.

Anything Else?

Did a little cleaning in my bedroom. I need to tackle my movie shelves and get those organized. But to do that I have to move my massive stack of books. So that is a multiple-day chore.
One of my cats has decided anytime I am at my desk, he needs to be on the desk. Which has not been fun...

Look at that asshole...
He was sound asleep in his bed when I sat down. Not even five minutes later I had a bitey wrist rest. And he only does this with me. When my kiddo uses the desk for school he leaves them alone. He just doesn't like me doing something that doesn't involve him.

And that's it...

See y'all on Wednesday, which will either be a rambling about a book or another Animal Crossing post. Depends on how nit-picky I get about the book ramblings.

This Week I...

 Hello there!

Let's see what I did this week.

Spoiler: Nothing much... Again.

Wrote

A little bit of fan-fiction things.Got in the mood to write some things with one pairing being cute.

Read

Mostly fan-fiction. Got the last volume of the Hawkeye comic I needed so hopefully I'll at least get that started next week.

Watched

The Penguins of Madagascar movie.

Murder, She Wrote

Kids Next Door - I needed something that I didn't really have to pay attention to on HBO Max. Or Max. or whatever it's called now.

A whole bunch of nature documentaries on YouTube. A lot of them were about ocean animals so I was just sitting here shouting "I caught one of those!" like I actually went fishing and caught a fucking oarfish. I did not. Animal Crossing me did though!

Look at it! Which, that is from my old game. I don't think I've caught an oarfish in this game. Need to fix that. Love those sea monsters. Seriously, if you don't know what an oarfish is (or just how big they really are) go look them up.

Played

Mobile games. Though, now I wanna go play some Animal Crossing. Catch some fish.

Posted

My plans for the month.
Review of a book about Richard Ramirez...
A couple things on AO3.

Anything Else?

My one cat (Wicket) was angry at me all week because a filthy mongrel was on his bed.

The filthy mongrel.

My parents were out of town for most the week so I had to baby-sit my dad's dog. He's clingy. But adorable so he gets a pass. Except for when he growls at my cats over food. Then I don't talk to him for a bit.

Kiddo is really enjoying their science course this year. Like, enjoying it so much that they are super focused on it and will probably finish it all up within the month. Which, one benefit of homeschooling is scheduling. Kiddo wants to focus on one subject for awhile? Go for it. As long as we get the required number of days in, it's cool. And they do the work that needs done.

Oh, kiddo is also going to be reading Hamlet because one of their friends read it and said it would be better with lesbians (as are a lot of things) so now my kiddo has to read it to see if they agree. Speaking of Shakespeare, my kiddo really recommends the No Fear Shakespeare books. They give the original version of the play on one page, and on the opposite page is a modern English translation. I found a copy of Romeo and Juliet at a thrift shop for them and they really enjoyed it so they asked for a version of Hamlet. Which was on Amazon in paperback for less than 10 bucks. So yeah, if you wanna read some Shakespeare but are hesitant because of the Old English, check those out.

Well, that's all for now. The way it looks Wednesday's post will be an Animal Crossing post. Unless I finish a book (or read all those Hawkeye comics) by Tuesday and crank out some ramblings about that instead.
