January Plans

Hello There!

I thought about doing a post about my plans for the WHOLE ENTIRE YEAR but... Let's face it. I can't meet monthly goals I set for myself. Why in the fuck would I think I could make goals for a whole fucking year?

So, monthly goals I will probably ignore it is.

 

In January I plan to...

 

Write

 Something. Just something. I've been just writing down random bits for things but haven't finished shit in months. I might try and go back to doing my little writing challenge over on AO3 daily. It was fun and did get me to write.

I do want to get back to my original stuff. Actually finish something in there.

Read

All of these. All of them.

 

I am almost done with Monsters of West Virginia, Good Omens, The Stand, and Love Bites, so I should be able to finish those soon. Just started Interview With the Vampire cause I did not like the mystery book I was reading, so I swapped it for Interview. It fits the Horror/Thriller/Mystery slot well enough. 

Speaking of reading, the Kiddo has started Queen of the Damned. So yay for more of them shouting about Lestat.  🤣

Also, for future reference, The Girl Explorers and Monsters of West Virginia probably will not get a blog post.

 

Watch

More than just YouTube.

Gonna try and finish up the Resident Evil stuff. I think I have the new live action movie. The new animated movie. And that show on Netflix? Not Infinite Darkness. Watched it the other day. But yeah, gonna try to finish those.

Gonna try to resist watching Red, White and Royal Blue again... It's just so good.

While I was rearranging the books and movies in my room, I did set aside some movies that I've been meaning to watch so I'll try to get to those. If there is anything I should watch, let me know. Always open to suggestions that I will get around to in a year or so... 😂

 

Play

 I wanna get back to Resident Evil 5.

And Assassin's Creed: Black Flag.

Also have been in the mood for some Sims shenanigans.

And some Red Dead Redemption.

And still need to finish the download for that Sherlock Holmes game.

Oh, I got another Sherlock Holmes game for Playstation. I should play that as well.

Oh, and I should check in on my Animal Crossing island!

I will not do any of these things. 

Anything Else?

Kiddo is getting new flooring for their room, so we have to empty out their room. Which means emptying up a few shelves of books. Which will be moving to my bedroom. So the books aren't lonely.

The fucking Stand. For fucks sake I keep getting distracted. I need to finish it. I'm at, like, 80% through it. Even I'm annoyed with how long it has taken me to read it.

Good Omens season 2.

Percy Jackson show when it comes out on Disney+

Red, White, and Royal Blue at least a few more times... 

Oh, and I wanna catch up on Doctor Who.

Maybe that Sherlock Holmes game I bought will finally be downloaded this month... Would love to play that. Wanna be a hot little twink detective...

My kiddo turns 18 this month. So, between that, trying to find a job in this town, and Christmas I will be having low level panic attacks all month.

I plan on spend the entire month panicking about getting stuff for my kid for Christmas and their birthday.

And those are my plans for the month. Yeah, this one is short. But the first of the month kind of snuck up on me.

October Plans

Hello There.

Tis the first of the month, which means time to outline my goals for the month that I will avoid doing. Because I am a horrible person. 

Write

I plan to write something. I have been having some trouble actually writing lately, so hopefully I can change that.

Read

September was not good for my reading either. Got better towards the end of the month so hopefully, I can keep that up.

I just wanna finish one of these books. Just one. Well, I want to finish them all, but baby steps.

Watch

Well, still haven't watched the things I said I was gonna watch last month. So... Let's try those again. And I wanna get caught up on Marvel and Star Wars stuff. I am very behind...

Play

I wanna play some Mortal Kombat. Just been in the mood...

Me and the kiddo are gonna start on some sewing stuff for school. That is mostly all they have left to do. Well, Life Skills, two book reports, three history essays, and three writing assignments. Wow. They got a lot to do. But they got the time to work on it all. 

I think that's all for this one. Mostly because I thought there were 31 days in September and was quite shocked late last night when I saw all the October 1st posts on Tumblr... 

This Month I Plan On...

Hello There!

I was going to do a monthly wrap-up post to see which things I actually did, but I decided I'll just cover that on here instead. 

So let's get on into it.

Writing

Did not go through all my old writing notes in August. Sort of just... shoved them under my bed to deal with later. Maybe I'll get that done this month. 

I do want to finish fleshing out my original characters. Got them all named, now to figure out what they look like. And some of them need some sort of personality.

Oh, I also wanna finally finish up my prompt journal. It has taken me way too long to get through that one.

Reading

Finished Salem's Lot and Bookshop Murder in August. Go me.

I'm going to try and focus on The Stand this month, which I'm a little over halfway through. And the Hawkeye comics. Might also try to get through either Good Omens or the Star Wars book I'm reading. No promises on those two though. Cause I will probably get distracted.

Watching

I did not watch any of the things I said I was going to watch. I ended up with Paramount+ for a month and spent the month basically watching Wings... 

So, the plan for this month is to watch the second season of Good Omens. Finish up the Resident Evil stuff. Watch Nimona. Oh, and Red, White, and Royal Blue. Oh, I would also like to start up Cheers. I want to watch Cheers, Frasier and Wings. I've already watched Wings all the way through but never really watched Cheers and only watched some Frasier. Time to watch it all.

Playing

I started playing Morrowind in August. Planning on getting back into that this month. I really would like to actually finish that damn game. It has an ending, right? I've never actually made it that far.

Anything Else?

I'm going to attempt to quit smoking. The past couple months I've slowly been cutting back. And I've been doing pretty well (except for when I'm driving or being social - those bring the anxiety and the anxiety brings a pack of cigarettes...). I'm down to about 6-7 cigarettes a day. Which still isn't great, but better than what it could be.

This Month I Plan On...

 Hello There!

So I was reading a blog post about fun and "interesting" blog post ideas. Because that is apparently what bloggers do? I don't know. But one of the things listed was posts about books you plan to read. This was about book blogging by the way. I decided that could be interesting (to me). But I'm going to expand on it, cause this isn't a book blog. It's a nerd blog. So, on the first of every month I'm going to do a post of things I want to do that month. I'm going to format them kind of like my weekly posts of what I did. So I'll go into what books I'm planning on reading. What movies/TV shows I plan on watch. What video games I plan to play. And what I want to try to write. 

Maybe this will guilt me into actually doing things instead of laying on my bed reading the same fan-fictions over and over.

So, let's get started!

This month I plan on...

Reading

I'm a little over halfway through Salem's Lot, hopefully I will get it all finished. And I got Goosebumps: Say Cheese and Die ready for my next spooky book to read. Need something less spooky this time.😂

The World's Most Infamous Killers is... okay. I'm only a few "chapters" in but it's basically just short blurbs about serial killers throughout history. Not sure how accurate it is since it said both Vlad Tepes and Elizabeth Bathory drank blood...

I'm about a 1/4 of a way through Good Omens. So I might get it done by the end of the month. Who knows.

I am reading the Young Jedi Knigts books super slow. If I wasn't so stubborn I would probably have given up on them. Not that I'm disliking them. Just not in the mood, maybe? I love those books. 

Saw the trailer for the Red, White & Royal Blue movie and decided I needed to read the book again. 

And the Daily Dose of Knowledge History book is an almost light read. I could probably get it finished by the end of the month if I can focus. I do not have faith that I can focus. 

I'm also reading The Bookshop Murder on Kindle. I'm 39% through it.

I really want to get through all of these books by the end of the month. I probably won't. My ability to focus on reading anything other than fan-fiction lately has been seriously lacking lately. Sometimes even fan-fiction doesn't hold my attention. But I'm going to really try.

I'm also planning on reading some Hawkeye comics. Just waiting to get volume 5 in the mail. 

 

Watching

Good Omens - Need to watch the second season before it all gets spoiled for me. 

Resident Evil - I started watching all the movies, animated movies and shows a while back. I think I'm up to Infinite Darkness, so I wanna finish watching all of those

I also want to check out Nimona on Netflix. I've heard good things about it. 

Playing

No real plans to play anything. Though I need to play something besides mobile games. I am working on looking up all the release dates for all my console games. I sort of want to try playing all of them in order of release. Just think it would be fun.

Writing

I plan on writing something...

I dug out all my handwritten things recently and realized that there are so many that need thrown away. Ones that I have typed up or even some that I have posted on AO3, so really no reason to keep the stacks of handwritten versions. They don't even count as backup versions since I changed so much since I wrote them up on paper. They're just taking up space. 

Anything Else?

Kiddo started up school yesterday. Last year of homeschooling. I think I'm going to miss it. So that will take some of my focus from things. But it will also give me time to do things while they are doing schoolwork. I also assigned them three history essays this year, so I was thinking about doing the same in solidarity. 

And that's about it.
