Random-ness

I got nothing for this week, so I'm just going to ramble.

Sorry.

Okay, so I started watching Schitt's Creek recently, and now I'm obsessed. Like, super obsessed. Like, I started reading fan-fiction obsessed. Like, I started writing fan-fiction obsessed. I do have a blog post planned out for the show, but I wanna wait until the end of this season.

I read a few books on my Kindle that I got for free. Most of them were bad. So bad. Bad enough that after one I gave up and started reading fan-fiction again. I might write up some reviews on GoodReads. Though, I feel bad about writing bad reviews, so I might not. Some were just so bad.

Speaking of Kindle books and fan-fiction, I recently read an Assassin's Creed fic that ended with a note that people could buy the work for Kindle, but it was cool, they changed the names of the characters. While it was a good fan-fiction, as a regular book, it would have been bad. If they were going to try to release it as an original work, it was going to need much more than some name changes. But that's probably a me thing.

Oh, I finished reading The Devil is a Part-Timer manga this week. Loved it. But, I feel like there were some unanswered questions in the end. For those that don't know, The Devil is a Part-Timer is about King Satan, a demon from another land, coming to Earth (Japan specifically). And while he's stuck in Japan waiting for his magic to come back, he works at a fast food place. There is an anime and a manga for it. Both are fantastic. Anime is only one season long. The manga is more complete. I recommend both. Warning, Netflix only has the subbed version of the anime, so if you don't like that, watch it somewhere else.

I really got nothing else. I'm tired and don't feel well. Hopefully, I'll have something better next week.

Also, according to my Grammerly tone detector, this post is sad. And I fully agree with it.

Six Things I Want From BioWare but Will Probably (Definitely) Never Get

A book about the fifth Blight in the point of view of a romanced Zevran
I just think it would be an interesting take on the whole thing. Start with Zevran accepting the job to kill the Wardens then follow the game. I don’t really care what Origin the Warden is from (I would totally prefer my male city elf but then I would have to write it… which I might…) but they have to romance Zevran and they’re totally in love with each other. I want pages of Zevran getting poetic over the Warden’s eyes and shit. I want a whole chapter of Zevran being confused by FEELINGS.

A game where you play as a Warden going through the Calling
My original idea was you play as your Warden from Origins during Inquisition. And you have your team from Awakening. Which would nicely explain where all those assholes were when there was a fucking hole in the sky. In the beginning of the game, there is this quiet sound in the background that you can’t quite make out. But by the end of the game, it is loud and distracting. Then it all just stops. And you get word that the Inquisitor has defeated Corypheus. That way the ending isn’t super depressing. I really just want a game with a background noise that starts out low and just gets louder and more distracting. I would kick ass at it because I’m so used to my family trying to have a conversation with me when I’m trying to save the world… or the galaxy… or the city…

DLC for Mass Effect: Andromeda
I will admit, Andromeda had its flaws. But it had such potential. And the ending felt like they were going to give me some DLC, and I was ready for it. I wanted to find those quarians, damnit! There were too many loose ends that could have been nicely tied up with a couple DLCs.

A book of translations of Dragon Age languages
I don’t need a detailed dictionary of Tevene words and phrases. I want just some basic words and phrases for each of the languages into English. Okay, this is mostly for fan-fiction purposes, but still, I want it. Wait, is that information in the World of Thedas books? Cause I need those for every reason…

A Remastered Knights of the Old Republic
BioWare did that one, right? If not, ignore this one. If so, continue reading. I looooove that game (both games, really) and I want an updated version. I want better graphics, really. That’s it. I don’t want it updated with new canon or anything. I wouldn’t mind being able to have a romance subplot, but that’s not necessary. But gods, imagine how great they could make that game look. Updated graphics and letting the main character talk would be enough for me to spend 60 bucks on it.

More DLC like the Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3
I know that DLC was fucking weird as shit in the context of the game. Why the hell was Shepard having a party in the middle of a galaxy-wide war? And the clone thing? And I will admit I spent an entire day trying to get high scores on all the arcade games. But damn was it fun. And now I can’t help but imagine a DLC like that for every game I play. Just let me and my friends have a party and go on dates and try to get my friends laid, BioWare!

And So It Begins...

First post.

Introduction post.

Bloggy woggy noggy foggy poggy moggy coggy zoogy doggie!

I am 100% not good at this introduction shit.

Okay. So, I’m Steph, and I like to ramble about stuff. Geeky stuff usually. I am the single mother to a teenager who shall henceforth be referred to as Short Round. I also have two cats, Wicket and Hawke. They’re assholes. Which should be obvious as they are cats.

I’m hungry, but that’s a me issue…

I’ve been doing shit online since I was a teenager. Had a TeenDiary (or was it TeenJournal? OpenDiary? Something. Can’t even remember, it’s been so long), MySpace, Facebook, LiveJournal, VampireFreaks. Spent many sleepless nights on various message boards and OnChat. Met some cool people. Lost contact with them. Met the coolest person, dug my claws in and refused to let go of that one. Now I’m mostly on Tumblr, but it lacks a lot. Mostly boobs and penises after the Great Tumblr Purge of 2018 (is that right? Golly has it been that long?). Not that I was posting any of that, but I miss seeing the occasional boob and penis as I scroll. Anyways… Since Tumblr is either boring as shit, or annoying as fuck, I decided to start a new personal blog.

I probably won’t have much of a theme on here. I’m just gonna ramble and rant about stuff. I wanna stick to some sort of schedule, but I suck at that shit so who knows.

Things I will probably ramble/rant about will include video games, movies, books, fan-fiction (I read and write it so it’ll be both sides), writing, parenting, art, comics, anime/manga, and anything else that pops into my head.

I’ll probably also post pictures of various things. Probably mostly my cats. Cause they are adorable. And I love them. But I also sometimes leave my house and take pictures of the outside. So, if you like mountains, trees, and trees on mountains, boy do I have some pictures you’re gonna like.

I’m also going to try and post reviews and summaries of books, movies, TV shows, and video games. Reviews will be super simple and as spoiler-free as I can make them. Summaries will be full of my weird humor, foul language, and spoilers.

That’s all I got for right now. Check back weekly to see if I stuck to my schedule.
